The Data-Matrix-Code is a two-dimensional graphical code with relatively high storage capacity. On an equally large area the Data-Matrix-Code's storage capacity is 100 times higher than a one-dimensional barcode. Readability is excellent: high data redundancies allow for reconstruction of codes destroyed by more than 25% without any problems at all.
The Data-Matrix-Code has been used industrially since the late 1980's, mainly in pharmaceutical and automotive production processes. The code's high information content allows for higher recognition reliability at simultaneously higher process speed.
